Gavin Warbrick
Hi, I’m Gavin and I love football!
I’d like every child who wants to play football to fall in love with it just like I have.
Boost Football is for children with all abilities who just want to receive a Boost to their football skills.
As a qualified F.A. UEFA C licence coach and working with children in a local school, my passion is to develop children to become good people not just good footballers. My coaching methods are fun and inclusive and will create a base for children to keep learning at home and in match day events.
Boost football also offers nutritional information that will help children in football and for their own well-being.
Safeguarding and First Aid
To ensure the highest quality coaching and safety during my courses I have successfully completed the "Introduction to Coaching Football" course along with the F.A ."Safeguarding Children Course" and the "Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF)" course. These courses are all approved by the F.A. and were passed and approved by Lucy Pearson (Head of FA Education, Sue Ravenlaw (Head of FA Safeguarding), and Lisa Hodgson (Medical Education Lead).
My Coaching Philosophy
I believe…
Players have useful and creative ideas.
My supporting behaviours.
I encourage my players to discuss how they want to play and listen to feedback from them.
The score-line does not determine our success.
I will rotate players - whether winning or losing I will remain positive, whatever the match result.
Teams deserve to play in a safe environment.
I will stay up-to-date with all safeguarding training and I will create age-appropriate inclusive sessions.
Players should have the chance to shape their team and sessions.
I will provide the opportunity to reflect on game performance I will involve players in important decisions.
Players learn best through playing football.
I will give everyone equal opportunity to play I will use game-related practices in my coaching sessions which encourages real game problem solving.
I coach young people, not mini footballers.
I will provide my players with psychological and social support and encourage them to become good people, not just good football players.
Players mature at different rates.
I never make snap judgements about ability I will use the FA Four Corner model to consider individual player development.
